Description of Service
Provides eligible seniors with checks that can be redeemed for the purchase of fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from approved farmers' markets. Checks are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis on the designated distribution day for each county. Each eligible recipient receives four $5.00 checks to redeem at a qualified farmers' markets or roadside stands. Click here to search for participating farmers' markets and farm stands.
Eligible Seniors recipients receive the SFMNP by going to a distribution site in their county. Distribution site information is available by calling the county aging office in the county the senior resides. Distributions are often through the AAA network of senior centers.
Photo identification for proof of age and residency is required.

Seniors must be 60 or older by December 31st of the program year, must not live in a residential facility providing meals, and must meet the income eligibility guidelines. and meet income requirements ($22,459 annual gross income for a one-person household and $30,451 for a two-person household).
