Description of Agency
Mental Health America (MHA) of York and Adams Counties provides representative payee services to adults (18+ years) who have been diagnosed with a serious mental illness and who receive Supplemental Security Income, Social Security Disability Income, and/or Survivor's benefits. As an organizational rep payee provider, we operate under guidelines established by the Social Security Administration. Our priority is to help beneficiaries manage their financial resources and ensure that their basic needs (for food, shelter, clothing, and health/medical care) are met.
Mental Health America of York and Adams also has a Consumer/Family Satisfaction Team (C/FST) dedicated to assessing the quality of behavioral health services funded by Medical Assistance. Our team works with Community Care Behavioral Health Organization to ensure a minimum of 300 satisfaction surveys are conducted each calendar year. Surveys are focused on a variety of behavioral health services (e.g., mental health outpatient, psychiatric inpatient, partial hospitalization, case management, residential treatment facility, etc.) offered to York and Adams County residents, including adults, children & youth, and families. Survey feedback is anonymous and voluntary. As feedback from surveys is collected, summary reports are generated. When survey feedback indicates an opportunity for service improvement, our team will work with community providers to help them make positive changes.
Both of our programs serve to assist individuals and families with finding additional community resources and supports they need to help them improve their quality of life.
Our mission is to promote mental wellness and support individuals in recovery through advocacy, education, social action, and the provision of community-based programs.
