Description of Program
Offers help for low-income, payment-troubled customers. The CARES program identifies the elderly, persons with handicaps and low-income customers who may have difficulty paying their utility bills. Customers who meet income guidelines will be enrolled into the company's Energy Assistance Program and Low Income Usage Reduction Program LIURP). Income eligibility for the Equitable Energy Assistance Program is $1,276 monthly/$15,315 yearly for a one-person household. Add $435 per month or $5,220 per year for each additional person in the household.
Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Washington, and Westmoreland counties
