General Information
Description of ProgramThe YWCA Greater Pittsburgh's Teen Services Department offers differentiated programming to cover an array of interests for students in grades 1 through 9. The three core programs/projects are TechGYRLS®, STEM Stars, and the STEM Impact Initiative. Through these programs students are empowered, exposed, and encouraged to study S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) disciplines, connect with their community, and advocate for what they believe in. In addition to implementing programs for students, the Teen Services Department provides professional development trainings with a focus on STEM to partnering organizations.

The YWCA Greater Pittsburgh’s Teen Services Department prepares individuals, in particular young women and girls to lead productive, safe, healthy, and fulfilling lives through comprehensive, culturally sensitive, academic, economic, and leadership opportunities.
