Description of Program
The Franklin County State Health Center, provides services which are aimed at improving the respective community’s public health via the provision of direct health services, health education and community health leadership and control. Emphasis is placed on primary and secondary preventive health services.
The overall goal of these programs is to reduce morbidity and mortality among the local service population and to promote healthy lifestyles. Programs are:
* HIV Testing and Counseling
* Tuberculosis treatment
* Rabies Investigation
* Information & Referral
* Travel Information
* Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention
* Investigation of reportable diseases
Appointment is required for confidential, anonymous HIV testing. Immunization services are by appointment only on Wednesdays from 8:30 AM - 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM in Chambersburg.
