Description of Program
The Corry Higher Education Council provides or facilitates the availability of adult education and workforce training opportunities. This includes such programs as: Free GED or HiSET preparation classes for those without a high school diploma; Adult Basic Education Classes for those with a diploma but who want to further their skills in reading, writing and math; basic computer classes such as Microsoft Word, Excel and QuickBooks; workforce skill classes that can lead to entry-level jobs in such areas as welding, machining and blueprint reading; and the opportunity to earn a college degree from Mercyhurst University in Corry, in Business Administration or Liberal Arts. The Hi-Ed can provide financial assistance for work-skills related classes for those with a financial need, and also makes available adult college scholarships. The Hi-Ed also hosts Pennsylvania CareerLink.
