Description of Service
Help individuals or households purchase homes in rural areas. Funds can be used to build, repair, renovate, or relocate a home, or to purchase and prepare sites, including providing water and sewer facilities. Those with low or very low incomes may qualify for direct loans. Those with more moderate incomes may qualify for guaranteed loans

Application package will contain required information to submit for pre-eligibility review. Those interested in guaranteed loans should contact a local approved lender within the county in which they wish to purchase.They should ask the lender if they are approved for the USDA Guaranteed program. The approved lender processes the application.
Direct loansMust be a legal citizen, 18 years of age or older, have good credit history and reoccurring stable income. Clents must be in the low or very low income categories per USDA RD. Contact the Clinton Office for additional informationGuaranteed loansFamilies must be without adequate housing, but be able to afford the morgage payments, including taxes and insurance. Income may be up to 115% of the median income for the area. In addition, they must have reasonable credit histories.
