Description of Service
Free tax return preparation for low-income families in Allegheny County.
The North Hills Community Outreach Millvale Site is located on the second floor of the Millvale Community Center at 416 Lincoln Avenue, next to the Mr. Smalls concert venue. FROM DOWNTOWN PITTSBURGH: Take Route 28 North to Exit 3 for Millvale. Stay straight to go onto Lincoln Avenue. 416 Lincoln Avenue is at the top of the hill on the right. FROM THE NORTH: Take Route 8 South and merge onto Route 28 South (towards Pittsburgh). Take Exit 3 for Millvale. Stop and then go straight at first Stop Sign. Take next right onto Lincoln Avenue. 416 Lincoln Avenue is at the top of the hill on the right.

Photo ID for yourself.
Social Security card for yourself, your spouse, and your dependents – this is essential. Only a printout from the Social Security Administration (in downtown Pittsburgh at 915 Penn Ave.) can substitute.
All W-2 forms. You must have the W-2s from all of your employers for the tax year before filing. Check to make sure the social security number on your W-2 is correct (if not, get a new W-2 from your employer before filing).
Forms that record other income, such as interest from a bank account (1099-INT), dividends (1099-DIV), pension (1099-R), or government payments (including unemployment benefits, Social Security and state or local tax refunds) (1099-G or 1099-SSA).
Anything that says “this is important for your taxes.”
Local tax forms or any tax booklets you have received in the mail.
Record of tuition and post-secondary educational expenses (1098-T) for yourself or your dependents.
Record of childcare costs - total paid for childcare and childcare providers' tax ID number.
If you own your home bring your mortgage interest statement and a copy of all your property tax receipts for the tax year.
If you have a bank account, bring a check or a deposit slip so we can get the account and routing numbers for direct deposit. This will speed up your refund, allowing you to get your refund in 1-2 weeks rather than 3-4 weeks.
Copy of your previous year's tax return if available (not required).
A paystub from each job if available (not required).
To file taxes electronically on a married filing joint tax return, both spouses must be present to sign the required forms.
