Description of Service
VA Pittsburgh participates in local events and attends meetings with neighborhood organizations and Veterans Service Organizations. A massive amount of time and effort has been devoted to creating new and lasting community partnerships. As a result, VAPHS has gained invaluable opportunities to inform veterans and community members of available VA health care benefits and services.
Although the number of returning service members is on the rise, many remain unaware of the many programs and resources available to them. The outreach program serves as an invaluable tool in helping VAPHS get the word out to the community, veterans and their families about the innovative and compassionate care we offer at our Pittsburgh facilities and five community-based outpatient clinics.
The VAPHS community outreach committee meets weekly to plan and coordinate their participation in events throughout western Pennsylvania and parts of West Virginia and Ohio. If you are interested in having VA Pittsburgh participate in a community event, please contact the outreach coordinator at 412-822-2924.
