General Information
Description of ServiceStrong Veteran, Strong Parent, Strong Child is a parenting workshop to support veterans’ new roles as parents. The workshop is facilitated by two psychologists with expertise in the topics.
Goals include:
  • Increasing parenting skills through education and discussion about infants and toddlers,
  • Learning and practicing self-care skills,
  • Meeting and accessing support form other veteran parents,
  • Connecting with national an d local parenting resources.
The 90-minute sessions will rotate six topics:
  • Emotional experiences during and after baby;
  • Caring and comforting baby;
  • Relationships and intimacy during and after baby;
  • Self-care and social support;
  • Day-to-day parenting – time-management, scheduling, routines;
  • Child Development.
