Intake Requirements
  • Names of everyone in your household

  • Birthdates of everyone in your household
  • Social Security Numbers for everyone in your household
  • Proof of income of everyone in your household
  • A copy of your most recent utility bill
  • Your utility account number
  • Proof of all payments made in the last 90 days
Additional RequirementsDollar energy does not cover security deposits, reconnection fees or amounts over $500. If the customer owes these amounts the customer must pay it before the application can be processed.

EligibilityIf applicants are eligible and programs are open, applicants must apply for LIHEAP and CRISIS before applying for the Dollar Energy Fund Hardship Program.

Gross monthly household income at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. Click here to see a chart of Federal Poverty Income Guidelines.

Applicants must have an outstanding balance on their utility bill of at least $100. Seniors (age 62+) may have a $0 balance as long as there is no existing credit on the account.

Proof of Sincere Effort of Payment:
Gas and electric: Applicants must have paid at least $150 on their account in the past 90 days; senior citizens (age 62 and over) must have paid $100 on their accounts.

Water and sewer: Applicants must have paid at least $100 on their account in the last 90 days; senior citizens (age 62 and over) must have paid at least $50.
