Description of Service
The URBAN PRIDE Healthy and Safe Youth Program will serve 280 high risk, underserved youth, ages 6 through 24, primarily African American and residing in the Allegheny County communities of the City of Duquesne and Northview Heights. The selection criteria for program participants will be based upon youth residency, identification of risk factors related to poor academic achievement and school attendance, prior involvement in the juvenile or child welfare systems, drug/alcohol problems, teen parenthood and risk factors related to poor health.
