Intake ProcedureStudents or parents/guardians in eligble schools can contact the guidance office. Written application will be completed. All participants undergo an orientation/training.

EligibilityYouth (Little Brothers/Sisters)-
* elementary or middle school-aged children
* willing to complete the application process
* willing to attend Empowerment Training
* have a desire to be matched with a Big Brother/Sister and willing to sustain that mentoring match relationship for at least one school year
* capable of deriving some benefit from the services of BBBS SMART program

Volunteers (Big Brothers/Sisters)
* must be a high school student at participating school district/resident of Berks County
* willing to complete the BBBS application and training process
* willing to sustain that mentoring match relationship for at least one school year
* willing to cooperate with the agency in the supervision/monitoring process of a mentoring match relationship
