Description of Service
Offers assessments by licensed optometrists, prescriptions for optical aids, and the opportunity to try out aids ranging from magnifiers, writing guides, special lighting devices, and closed-circuit TVs. Clients are encouraged to borrow aids prior to purchase. Prevention of blindness programs including preschool vision and adult screenings.
Transportation This free door-to-door service provides rides to any type of medical appointment or essential service need, such as obtaining a photo ID. Individuals must live in Allegheny County and appointments must be made in advance.
Support Services These services include grocery and personal needs shopping with the individual, assisting with reading and filling out forms, picking up prescriptions, minor household repairs, adjusting clocks and reading instructions.
Counties served in southwestern PA include: Allegheny, Armstrong, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Lawrence, Indiana, Mercer, Washington, Westmoreland
