Families live at host congregations for one week at a time and rotate around to twelve different churches in the area who provide shelter, three free meals a day, and often provide evening activites and fellowship for the guests.
Each day, families are transported to the Day Center by the FPHCR bus where families can do laundry, shower and get ready for school or work. Parents who are not working stay at the Day Center and work on job and housing searches. |Catholic Charities Interfaith Shelter for Homeless Families||The Interfaith Shelter for Homeless Families, operated by Catholic Charities is the only family shelter that serves men, women and children in the Capital region.
Families are able to stay together in their time of crisis.
Each family is provided 3 meals a day, plus snacks, clean bedding, towels, personal hygiene items and toiletries.
The primary goal of the shelter continues to be assisting families in finding permanent housing.

|Next Step Center, Inc. Emergency Shelter||Emergency shelter (up to 30 days) to eligible, low-income families and individuals from Somerset County who, due to situational crisis, are at risk of becoming homeless.
Referral services, information and assistance that will enable guests to relocate to permanent housing within the 30 days allowed.
The Shelter is open to all eligible Somerset county residents and requires guests to follow the rules and regulations that support accepted life-skills and establish a safe environment for all guests, staff and volunteers.
