Coast Guard Mutual AssistanceCoast Guard Mutual Assistance (CGMA) is a tax-exempt organization of Coast Guard people assisting the entire Coast Guard family, including active duty, retired military, Coast Guard civilian employees, Coast Guard Reserve, Coast Guard Auxiliary, Public Health Service officers serving with the Coast Guard, and surviving family members. Most assistance is provided through interest-free loans and personal grants. Education assistance programs support members and dependents in their pursuit of academic goals. Other types of assistance include emergency travel, temporary living expenses, funeral expenses, loss of funds or property, disaster relief, medical and dental expenses, home studies expenses for adoptions, and debt management. Vickie's Angel WalkHelping families fighting cancer who cannot pay their bills due to the cancer. Financial help from Vickie's Angel Walk can be used for both medical and non medical expenses. Williamsport Community and Economic Development ServicesPrimary services include:
  • The administration of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME funds from the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), and GAP Funding to help individuals with an income below $33,000 with a down payment
  • Homebuyer Assistance to help finance purchase of a single family homes in Williamsport - *Note that the consumer's name will be put on a Waiting List
  • Owner Occupied Single Family Housing Rehabilitation (home repair) programs that include grants and low interest loans for repairs, improvements and code-required upgrades
  • Residential Rental Rehabilitation funds for landlords who provide affordable housing to those with low and moderate incomes
  • Grants for Accessibility Improvements, including ramps and accessible bathrooms for city residents with disabilities - *Note that the consumer's name will be put on a Waiting List
  • Residential Rental Rehabilitation funds for landlords who provide affordable housing to those with low and moderate incomes
  • Public Facility and Infrastructure Improvements, such as sidewalks, street curbs, street trees, and fire hydrant upgrades

  • Micro Enterprise Loans, LERTA Tax Reduction Initiative for Commercial Improvements, and a Commercial Facade Improvement Low Interest Loan program for repairs to commercial property exteriors
