Case Status Update: VWAP updates you of every action that occurs in your case via written correspondence and phone contact.
Courtroom Orientation: VWAP walks you through the courtroom experience with a training video, kid's court programs and one-on-one sessions with an advocate.
Creditor / Employer / School Intercession: VWAP advocates on your behalf with creditors, employers, schools or whomever else when needed.

Early Outreach: VWAP makes every attempt to contact you within 10 days of the crime that was committed against you providing we have the police report or information from the courts.
Child Care & Transportation: VWAP assists with childcare and transportation needs during your time at court proceedings when you are unable to find alternative means.

|Legal Advocacy - Women In Need||Provides advocacy and accompaniment through the criminal and civil court system. In criminal court, WIN Legal Advocates assist victims as they go through different court proceedings, explaining court procedures and informing them about the progress of their case. The Legal Advocates can also assist victims through the criminal process by accompanying them to the Police Department and/or District Attorney's Office.
In addition to criminal court accompaniment, Legal Advocates are also available to assist victims of abuse in completing a Protection from Abuse Order, or PFA. |Office of Victims' Services, Victims Compensation Assistance Program||Provides financial assistance to victims of crime and their families who have suffered an out-of-pocket loss as a direct result of a crime. Compensation benefits could include: medical expenses, loss of earnings, stolen benefit cash, funeral expenses, loss of support (homicide cases only), crime-scene cleanup expenses, relocation expenses and counseling expenses. The Victims Compensation Assistance Program is regarded as the "payor of last resort", all other sources including medical, auto and homeowner/renter's insurance must be utilized before compensation can be considered. Eligibility requirements include but are not limited to: the crime must occur in Pennsylvania; the crime must be reported to the proper authorities within 72 hours (special exceptions for child victim); the victim must cooperate with law enforcement, the courts and the Program; the victim must not have been engaged in illegal activity that caused the crime and the minimum loss requirement of $100 (victims under age 60, victims age 60 and over there is no minimum loss requirement) in eligible benefits must be met and a claim must be filed no later than two years after the occurrence of the crime.
