FOCUS North America, FOCUS Pittsburgh: Free Health CenterEstablished as a Volunteer in Medicine (VIM) facility, the FOCUS Pittsburgh's Free Health Center (FPFHC) has a team of Volunteer Medical Professionals who provide skilled and compassionate care, while nonclinical volunteers provide help with answering patient phone calls and assisting with applications for care. Our volunteers together with our staff of two full-time employees and one part-time employee care for patients according to the VIM’s “culture of caring” model that values how an individual is treated just as much as the treatment they receive. FOCUS Pittsburgh Free Health Center's patient list grows on a daily basis. There is a desperate need for primary and mental health care in the neighborhood. In order to reduce the wait for patients, we are in need of volunteer doctors, nurses, and specialty health professionals (to help us complete the follow-up for our patients). Available Services FPFHC provides adult health care including:
  • Primary care,
  • Diagnosis and management of chronic diseases of moderate severity,
  • Disease screening for hypertension and diabetes,
  • Medication reviews,
  • Mental Health care,
  • Dental care referrals,
FPFHC does not provide pediatric care or emergency services. FPFHC does not discriminate based on religious beliefs, race, gender, ethnicity, age, or physical disability. FPFHC provides only health services. It is not a form of health insurance coverage.
