An interdisciplinary team of health .professionals and support staff help participants and their caregivers develop the knowledge and skills necessary to manage care in their home. The dementia program for the memory impaired is located in a secure room; the general program is located in an open, monitored room. Features:

    • Mid-day meal, nutritious snacks and beverages (special dietary needs accommodated),
    • Monthly activity and recreation schedule, including therapeutic programs such as ceramics, music therapy, gardening, card games, Bingo, off-station trips, and more,

    • Affordable care (cost is based on income and service-connected disability, but never more than $15/day; there is no co-pay for veterans who have a 10% or higher service-connected disability),
    • Assistance with travel arrangements (veterans must live within a one-hour driving distance of the HJ Heinz campus; the caregiver is responsible for arranging transportation).
