Roads to Freedom - Deaf and Hard of Hearing ServicesThe Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services of Roads to Freedom Center for Independent Living of North Central PA, offers:
  • Resources/training related to language translation, housing, income benefits, mobility/transportation, education, communication, assistive technology, advocacy, budgeting, household management, mentoring, and socialization/recreation geared toward persons who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Sign Language Instruction
  • Assistance with obtaining an Interpreter/Communication Access Realtime Translation (CART)
  • Instruction of the Pennsylvania Driver’s Manual
  • Public awareness/sensitivity training regarding persons who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Information about Videophones/Video Relay Interpreting Services and resources on how to go about getting a videophone
  • Assistance with getting equipment via the TDDP such as a TTY, CapTel, amplified telephone, etc.
A New Start program through Roads to Freedom, an Assistive Technology reuse/recycle program, may be able to provide donated equipment.

Salisbury Behavioral Health - Maryland - Sign Language InstructionProvides behavioral health services and supports to individuals with mental illness, behavioral issues and/or emotional disturbances. Services for adults and children with hearing loss and mental health issues in the Lehigh Valley include case management and an outreach program that provides training in sign language and deaf culture for groups and families. Other deaf services are available through the Glenside office (215-884-9770). Children and family services available in the Lehigh Valley include behavioral health rehabilitation, family based mental health services and case management.
