    Corry Higher Education Council - Adult Education and Workforce TrainingThe Corry Higher Education Council provides or facilitates the availability of adult education and workforce training opportunities. This includes such programs as: Free GED or HiSET preparation classes for those without a high school diploma; Adult Basic Education Classes for those with a diploma but who want to further their skills in reading, writing and math; basic computer classes such as Microsoft Word, Excel and QuickBooks; workforce skill classes that can lead to entry-level jobs in such areas as welding, machining and blueprint reading; and the opportunity to earn a college degree from Mercyhurst University in Corry, in Business Administration or Liberal Arts. The Hi-Ed can provide financial assistance for work-skills related classes for those with a financial need, and also makes available adult college scholarships. Veterans Leadership Program’s HVRP Job Club is tailored to meet the needs of this group of Veterans and is held 4 times each year. During Job Club, participants meet for 8 days on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Some sessions feature morning and afternoon segments, and lunch is provided if the Veteran stays for both.
