    Programs that provide instruction, demonstrations and special programs in the culinary arts for individuals of all ages who want to become proficient in the selection and preparation of any of a number dishes that are representative of different cuisines. Included are programs aimed at teaching low income people how to cook nutritious meals from fresh ingredients at a cost much cheaper than pre-packaged meals.

    Supercupboard Program for Teens and AdultsEmphasis on small group activities which focus on life skills development- food buying, budgeting, meal preparation, sanitation & nutrition. Group members attend eight sessions where there is some time for socialization and support. All participate in food prepartion, serving and sharing a meal. Participants are given the exact grocery ingredients used in each meal to make for their family, and then report back to the group on the results. Nutritionists from the penn state cooperative extension service provide the expertise for the food components of the super cupboard program. Each session ends with a guest speaker or a tour. The activities are based on the interests of the group members, and vary greatly. Interests range from personal care, relationships, parenting, job training, to weight reduction. Groups run continuously and can be arranged for day or evening. Child care and transporation can be provided. Spanish speaking presentations are available. Group membership is diverse. However, groups with specific needs can be arranged, such as; collectively focused, pregnant teens, adults returning from incarceration or other treatment.     The House of GraceThe focus of this Christ-centered support group for women is self-sufficiency and spiritual growth; learned in a warm environment. Life skills education and mentoring are available. Goals are to develop wholeness in women so they may become the persons God created them to be in all aspects of life; and to equip women for service to others. (This is not a residential program) Life skills education utilizes primarily a "hands on" approach and is one-on-one whenever possible.
