|United Way of the Capital Region||The mission of United Way of the Capital Region is to improve lives in Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry counties by identifying the most pressing community needs, finding solutions to those needs, and demonstrating how these solutions are making a difference. In 2015, after reviewing the findings of the 2014 community assessment, United Way of the Capital Region's board of directors identified and approved the following critical areas of focus to drive our work over the coming years: Education and Disparities in school readiness and school achievement. Health and Lack of access to health care. Income and Children and families living in poverty. Basic Needs Increase in the number of families needing safety net services. The Money in your Pocket Campaign (MIYP) is a community collaboration of organizations lead by United Way of the Capital Region that is committed to the economic stability of local families. The program aims to increase use of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), and the Child Tax Credit (CTC).
