    Camp CadetCamp Cadet is a summer camp for Pennsylvania youth between the ages of 12 to 15. The camp is held at various locations throughout the State and staffed by Troopers, local police officers and many other volunteers. The goal of Camp Cadet is to introduce participants to the diverse criminal justice system and establish a positive relationship with law enforcement personnel. Camp Cadet is open to all youth and is structured similar to training at the police academy. The camp focuses on discipline, self-esteem, teamwork, drug and alcohol education, violence prevention and many other issues facing today’s youth. Camp Cadet is a non-profit organization. Meals, lodging and programs are provided at no cost to the applicant. Camps are usually funded by various fund raisers and business and community donations.     Camp FrogChildren with epilepsy — like all children — need to experience and enjoy outdoor recreation. The EFWCP sponsors two weeklong, overnight summer camping programs called Camp Frog. This nationally recognized activity allows kids with epilepsy/seizure disorders to be integrated into a typical camping experience with hundreds of other children. The overnight program is available to boys and girls with epilepsy/seizure disorders from ages 8–17 who have completed 3rd grade but not yet graduated high school. Campers enjoy a host of activities, such as arts and crafts, campfire sing-alongs, swimming, team games, sailing, archery, and horseback riding. Camp staffs include EFWCP counselors, with additional support from medical staff. All camp staff members receive specialized training in seizure recognition and first aid. Medical staff includes a licensed pediatric neurologist and a registered nurse practitioner.     Sam's ProgramIn addition to full privilege memberships, each Tuesday evening from October through April, children in 1st -7th grade are transported by YMCA buses to the YMCA for physical activities, fellowship, mentoring and Christian education. At the conclusion of the evening’s activities these children are then transported back to their neighborhoods. During the summer months these children are transported to the YMCA’s Sam’s Summer Day Camp site for eight full weeks of camping activities. This program involves weekly trips to various points of interest as well as special theme weeks such as Character Counts Camp, Music Camp, 4-H Camp, Olympic Camp, Wet and Wild Camp, Adventure Week, Good News Camp and Sports Week. These activities are provided to the children at no charge, due to the generosity of the YMCA’s Partners with Youth donors. The YMCA also offers membership privileges to 13-19 year-old underprivileged youth.
